THE

BOOK

OF DOROTHY

Guided by the mysterious Curupira, Sister Dorothy Stang has finally found land for migrant farmers looking to settle in a remote area of the world’s last frontier: the Amazon. But when a consortium of ranchers threatens to take the land as their own, this soft-spoken 73-year-old nun from Ohio will do whatever she can to stop them, even if that means risking her own life.

Based on actual events from 1991 to 2005, The Book of Dorothy unveils what happens when courage, compassion and faith clash with the forces of greed, apathy and ultimately violence on a red clay road deep in the heart of the emerald forest.  Rich in Brazilian mythology and music, it’s a showdown of Biblical proportions, the outcome of which may affect us all.
